Quote of Note: "On previous Earth Days we have offered a solution: The President should set the standard by delivering a message to the Congress on the state of the environment, citing priorities that need to be addressed...But without Presidential and Congressional leadership, even an enlightened public cannot cope with the greatest challenge of our time." --Senator Gaylord Nelson, founder of Earth Day

You Might Be A Redneck Volunteer Fire Department If... Your department has ever had two emergency vehicles pulled over for drag racing to the scene. You have naked lady mud flaps on your pumper. Your firehouse has wheels. Some of your firefighters respond in horse and buggies. You've ever gotten back and found out you locked yourselves out of the firehouse. Fire training consists of everyone standing around a fire getting drunk. You've ever been toned out on an outhouse fire...

The English Language Let's face it - English is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins weren't invented in England or French fries in France. Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat. We take English for granted. But if we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig. And why...

We are all here for a reson. For some people its more clear than others. Take a bird for instance, the bird eats a seed shits it out and the seed grows a tree. That tree becomes life. So the bird has a purpose, the shit has a purpose and the seed has a purpose. What is mine?
